Are you or have you received services from Community Support and Treatment Services (CSTS)? We want you: your time, expertise, voice, interests, emotion, and insight to ‘be the change that you want to see in the world’ (Ghandi). The Recovery Mentor Program , the brain child of Nancy Willett who received services at CSTS, is designed to meet people where they are at. Having been in a similar situation as those beginning services at CSTS or waiting in the lobby, you have just what it takes to help someone else feel more comfortable and learn about our programs and/or groups. From as little as 15 minutes per week to as much as you care to spend, the time that you commit to assisting others will benefit you as much as the person you serve.
There are three ways to make a difference:
Lobby Greeters– create a warn atmosphere in the lobby by greeting and engaging people as they wait for services
Intake Volunteers– connect with people as they enter our Recovery-Oriented System of Care to explain the Recovery Mentor Program
Recovery Mentors– use their skills and experience as someone with a mental illness to mentor someone entering services on a one on one basis
